The Faculty of Business and Economics at the Catholic University of Leuven has an open position for a full time assistant professor (tenure track) of International Economics.
Duties
Research
- The selected candidate will do research in the field of macroeconomics (with applications in international economics) and will be responsible for initiating and directing research projects in this field. He/she is expected to supervise master papers and doctoral dissertations.
Teaching
- The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in the fields of international/macroeconomics i.e., international macroeconomics, international monetary economics and/or international trade;
- The specific teaching assignment can be adjusted in function of the candidate’s curriculum.
Qualifications
- Applicants must have a PhD in economics;
- They should have some teaching experience and an excellent research record in the field of international macroeconomics;
- Publications in internationally reviewed journals can provide evidence for this;
- The successful candidate is expected to contribute to strengthening the teaching and research activities of the department of economics and more particularly within the research group of International Economics;
- Successful applicants who do not speak Dutch are expected to be able to instruct in this language within three years;
- Proficiency in the English language is also required of all applicants;
- For this purpose, the university provides courses in Academic English.
Note
This position will become permanent after a positive five year probationary period (tenure track) leading to the rank of associate professor.
